Bloglovin... Again!

Two posts today... Aren't you a lucky old lot! I know I've previously posted about bloglovin which was way back when I first got it! But now as google reader has gone it's become bloggers number 1 choice for keeping up to date in the world of beauty. I really recommend bloglovin it's so easy to set up and then when you have blogs are easy to see and can be organized into different categories. I would love it if anyone reading this would follow me on bloglovin. My profile is here http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/7294751/the-painted-princess. Thank you if you do follow me!

London!

(Pictures from top to bottom - London Eye, Big Ben, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, The Shard, The Gherkin, Me and Leo ;-), The cute worms in the Aquarium, Penguins and 221B Baker Street)

Last weekend I went to London for the weekend with my family. We did lots of amazing things including going on the London Eye, visiting Madame Tussauds and the Aquarium, seeing some beautiful landmarks like Big Ben, The Shard, The Gherkin and The Tower Of London and going to 221B Baker Street where I excitedly squealed letting my inner Sherlock nerdiness come out! It was a great weekend and now I really really want to live in London!

June Favourites

Hey Guys! I'm here today with a quick little post but one of my favourites literally! It's my June Favourites! I haven't had many favourites this month but there has been a few things I've adored! I've loved reading Cosmo magazine (and wearing my gorgeous free sunnies), watching macbarbie07 on YouTube - check out her videos she's amazing, listening to Ariana Grande ft Mac Miller - The Way, creating some beautiful eye combos with my MUA Palette (full review coming soon) and wearing my Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (review here)! I have really enjoyed June but it went so quickly and to be honest the weather was disappointing! But hey ho whatever! What have you guys been loving this month?

Rimmel Rose Libertine

Bonjour! I'm here again with another varnish review and for that I'm sorry. I seem to buy so much nail varnish and I fall in love with all of it so I have to blog about it! The newest addition to my stash is a Rimmel 60 Second Nail Varnish in Rose Libertine. This colour is so beautiful I swear the moment I saw it I collapsed to the floor. It's the most gorgeous peachy coraly pinky colour that looks so stunning in the sunshine! The formula of these polishes is amazing it glides on so easily and the big fat brush really makes it easy to cover your whole nail in one swipe. This polish really needs two coats to achieve full opacity but the pictures above are one coat and it doesn't actually look that bad. The finish is super shiny and I swear this dries in 1 second flat! Maybe that's a bit dramatic but the drying time is so quick it's unbelievable. When used with a top coat these nail varnishes stay on well but alone they chip fairly easily.

So there you have it another nail varnish review! Will you be going out and buying Rose Libertine in time for summer?

How I Style Dungarees

I've always loved dungarees ever since I was little and now they've come back into fashion I'm super excited. When I first got them I didn't know how to wear them, what t-shirts looked best underneath etc. but after playing around a bit I came up with 3 looks. Just a quick point my dungarees are from New Look and were £15-£20 I can't quite remember.

First Look

For this look I wore my Pink Mickey Mouse Vest Top that I got from Disneyland, some pearl bead bracelets, and my Aeropostale flip flops! I actually bought two pairs of these as it was cheaper to buy two pairs than one pair? Crazy right? To complete this look I simply did a bit of light eyeshadow, and pink lip and put my hair in a ponytail with a pink ribbon!

Second Look

For this look I paired my White Lace Crop Top from Topshop with a Brown Bag from Primark and Brown Sandals from New Look. I also added my Pork Pie Hat from Topshop. This look is so perfect for summer and I just love it so much!

Third Look

This look is slightly different. I do really like it but I don't know if I would be brave enough to wear it out and about. I put a plain white top on and then my dungarees. I then put my Dark Red Lace Skater Skirt from Boohoo.com on top. I think this look is really cute and the little bit of dungarees that peeps out looks adorable but I don't know if I would actually wear this about? I don't think I'm brave enough!

That's it! They are my 3 dungarees looks that I may/may not be wearing in the summer! What look do you like best? Will you be wearing dungarees in the summer?

P.S Sorry the body pictures aren't very good. I planned to go in the garden but the weather disagreed and a full on thunderstorm happened! I had to switch to plan B. I will try and do some OOTD posts in the garden soon though.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be reviewing a foundation. I only started wearing foundation recently  as it's not great for your skin and I don't really need it all the time. I wanted to see if foundation would make any difference and after reading so many rave reviews about Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation I decided to try it. I really like this foundation and although I can't compare this to any other foundation it's everything I would want a foundation to be. It's not cakey or orange and  it's easily blended with just your fingers. It has got a slight shimmer in and gives a dewy finish which makes you look more 'awake' as the name suggests so if you don't like shimmer and prefer a matte finish I'd give this on a miss. The packaging is good, it has a pump which makes it easy to apply, I find 1 to 1 1/2 pumps is good enough. The glass packaging makes it look more expensive than its £8.99 price tag. While this is a good thing if you travel lots you must be careful with it so the glass doesn't break. A few other things about this foundation that make it good are the fact it contains SPF 15 which means your face is unlikely to get burnt and also it has good wear. I find this lasts me all day. Also the smell is nice which is a bit strange but you don't want something rank smelling on your face! The only bad point about it is the shade range. I think the shade I got matches my skin pretty well but some people obviously wont have a match.

That's it for my review! Sorry its a bit long but I had to get all this stuff out there! Lots and lots and lots of love -

May Favourites

Hey Guys! It's June now which can only mean one thing - May Favourites! In my last favourites post I said I would be doing 3 beauty/fashion favourites, a book and a song/album but I've decided to just be random and rebellious and do whatever I feel like! This month I've absolutely loved banana milk from Tesco's. Please don't ask me why but I've been drinking it everyday like some kind of milk freak because it's so darn good. Rant over. I've also loved painting my nails with Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Rose Libertine, listening to fun. - some nights and wearing dungarees like I did when I was 5. I don't know if I'm allowed to include this as I got it on the 30th of May but it's my iPhone 5. I'm already in love with it though so I'm sure I will be for months to come.

Thank you for reading my monthly favourites, I hope I've inspired you to try some of these things :-) What have you been loving this month?

Barry M Nail Varnish Review

I apologise this picture doesn't show my full nails in the colour I completely forgot to take a picture before I did the flowers! The base colour is the Barry M Nail Polish.
Hey guys! I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend (if you're in the UK anyway!). I've officially fallen in love with nail varnish (is that okay, am I allowed to do that?). I've always loved Barry M nail varnishes for the colour range, formula and price! At £2.99 for the normal range and £3.99 for the 'special' ones (foils, gellys, glitters etc) you can't go wrong. This one is from the Gelly range which is £3.99. They claim to give a 'glossy gel like finish with just one coat' which I believe they do. This one is a beautiful cornflower blue colour which will look lovely in the summer. The formula is great, it goes on so smoothly! If you're in a rush you could probably get away with one coat but for it to look its best you really need two coats. Its drying time is pretty quick too which is good as it means you don't spend half an hour flapping your arms about like a mad woman trying to get it to dry. I really recommend this polish or any of the others colours from the Barry M Gelly range as there are some beautiful ones!post signature

Race For Life!

On Saturday the 18th May I took part in the Race For Life with my Mum, Best Friend and her Mum. It was such a fun day out and it made it so much more special that we were doing it for such a great cause. I did the 5k race which is about 3 miles. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going be although I did walk a lot of the way! It was so fun doing it with my best friend and I really felt a sense of achievement for completing the race and donating money to Cancer Research UK as it's such an amazing charity! Cancer is an issue close to a lot of peoples hearts and I think events like this really raise awareness and inspire people to band together and wipe out this illness! I really recommend doing the Race For Life as soon as you can as I can guarantee you'll love it!

Space Girl Review

I've had a few bath bombs from Lush before but I've never tried Space Girl. There's a first time for everything though so I decided to try this out. I swear I was in space heaven when I used this! It turned my bath a beautiful lilac colour with a small amount of red glitter. There probably could of been more glitter for my liking but the purple colour was so perfect I was okay with it. It claimed to have popping candy in it and there was but again there could of been more. The smell was the best thing though. It smelt like palma violets (which are my favourite sweets ever) and I genuinely think I was in heaven! I really recommend this bath bomb as it was only £2.10 from Lush which is so cheap!

P.S If you're feeling nice, give me a follow me on bloglovin' :-)

Kate Moss Lipstick Review

Hola! I'm going to be doing a review today. I'm so excited about this I'm getting a little sweaty - okay maybe that's not true but you get my drift. The Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipsticks are loved muchly all over the interweb. After a 45 minute trip to Boots I came out with my purchase and I was dying to try it. I got shade 16 which is a light pink but quite a bright one with hints of coral. The packaging is good for a drugstore brand featuring Kate's 'signature' and the engraved Rimmel crown on the top. The lid also gives a really satisfying 'click' when you shut it (sad I know) It goes onto my lips so smoothly and doesn't dry them at all. It's so creamy and beautiful ahh. It does slightly cling to flaky patches on your lips but a quick scrub beforehand will deal with that. It has a sheen finish and isn't in anyway matte. It lasts around 2 or 3 hours but obviously it all depends on how much you eat, drink, lick your lips etc. It was £5.49 which I think is an amazing price as it's so so good! (Oh and it's smells fabulous as well) :-)

P.S. When I went to add the photos I realised I'd forgotten a swatch. Again. I will learn soon.

P.P.S I'm saving up for a better camera, bear with me please :-)

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer Review

The Collection concealer is something greatly raved about in the blogosphere. I decided to jump on the bandwagon and get myself some and to be honest I was impressed. I'll go even further and say I think it's pretty amazing. When I walked in to boots wielding my £10 I did not expect to find it was just £4.19! I'm pretty sure I stood there in shock for at least a minute. After getting over my shock I started to test them. With only 4 shades to choose from I was slightly disappointed but the price was so amazing I got over it. After umm'ing and ahh'ing between Light and Fair I chose Light. It's a near match! Its quite thick and gives full coverage but is easily blended to look au naturel. It doesn't go cakey or flakey hardly at all! It claims to last for 16 hours but if it did I think I would've fainted with shock. Even though it doesn't last 16 hours it definitely stays put for the majority of the day! I have just one problem. The packaging. The size of it and the doe foot applicator are good. But the writing on it rubs off after a little while. While this doesn't affect the product it is slightly annoying! But I think that's about it so it's still a must have! I recommend it immensely!

Also another exciting thing is that today I'm changing my blog completely! The URL will now be the-painted-princess.blogspot.com! I hope you all like the name change and the new look of my blog :-)
